Overnight call rates increased within the range of 4.50-9.50% on Saturday, October 25. Weighted Average Rate (WAR) stood at 8.56% on October 25, as compared to 5.81% on the previous working day i.e. October 24. The total turnover of the call market increased sharply to Rs 21,810.8 million from the previous day`s Rs 2,844.1 million.
The amount outstanding under the standing liquidity adjustment facility available with the RBI was Rs 28,890 million at 8%-9% on October 25. The cumulative cash balance of the scheduled commercial banks with RBI stood at Rs 33,645.58 billion as on October 23.

According to the Reserve Bank of India`s (RBI) report on money market operations released on October 27, term money transactions and notice money operations remained suspended on October 25.
Further, the 1-day collaterized borrowing and lending obligation (CBLO) operations on October 25 stood at Rs 23,838 million with WAR at 8.28% within the range of 7.50-9.00%. On the same day, transactions of 1-day market repos fetched Rs 285 million, with WAR at 8.49%, within the interest range of 8.49-8.49%. |
