Visa Steel starts commercial operations of two units

Visa Steel commissioned commercial operations of its 150,000 TPA DRI plant and 25 MW power plant situated at Kalinganagar industrial complex, Jaipur and Orissa, respectively.

The company registered a 9.45 times growth in net profit at Rs 485.11 million for the quarter ended June 2008 from a profit of Rs 51.32 million for the quarter ended June 2007.

Net sales increased 3.68 times to Rs 2,557.29 million for the quarter ended June 2008 from Rs 694.13 million for the quarter ended June 2007.

Shares of the company declined Rs 2.25, or 9.64%, to settle at Rs 21. The total volume of shares traded was 64,466 at the BSE (Friday).
