Dalmia Cement Bharat said that as per an order of the high court at Madras a meeting of the equity shareholders of the company will be held on Oct.  17, 2008, for the purpose of considering, and if thought fit, approving the scheme of amalgamation of  Eswar Cements with the company.

Dalmia Cement Bhara, a Sanjay Dalmia group company, manufactures cement, sugar magnesite and refractories.

Shares of the company declined Rs 4.35, or 2.28%, to settle at Rs 187. The total volume of shares traded was 3,562 at the BSE (Wednesday).
