The pan-India spectrum for mobile services was given today to Shyam Telecom and Russian company Sistema combined, reports Business standard.
Shyam-Sistema had applied for mobile services in CDMA technology in 21 circles except Rajasthan where the company is already offering services under the brand name `Oasis`. The company becomes third private company to offer mobile services using CDMA technology after Reliance Communication and Tata TeleServices.
Shyam Telecom, which has sold majority stake to Russian giant Sistema, hopes to start services soon and has already started rolling out network in various parts of the country.
Shares of Shyam Telecom (Q,N,C,F)* gained Rs 9, or 10%, to settle at Rs 99. The total volume of shares traded was 27,882 at the BSE (Friday). |
