Nokia, a global player in mobile handsets, is likely to rollout 3G mobile services and expects it to be a huge business driver for its India operations, reports Economic Times.
The 3G service not only allows much faster communications but also provides a wide range of applications such as high-speed net access, video calls, fast music and video downloads, interactive gaming and global positioning over internet.
The company is expanding its basket of 3G-compatible handsets to boost its margins. It is also expecting to dish out 3G-enabled CDMA phones for the replacement market.
`The company has been slowly building a 3G mobile portfolio for India`, said D Shivakumar, managing director, Nokia India.
