Unichem gets USFDA nod for allergy drugs

Unichem has received final approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) to manufacture and market for Cetirizine Hydrochloride Allergy and Cetirizine Hydrochloride Hives tablet in strengths 5 mg, 10 mg and 5 mg and 10 mg respectively.

Cetirizine hydrochloride an antihistamine, is a major metabolite of hydroxyzine, and a racemic selective H1 receptor inverse agonist used in the treatment of allergies, hay fever, angioedema, and urticaria.

Shares of the company closed down Rs 3.45, or 1.67%, at Rs 203. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 3,810 (Tuesday).
