Lupin gets tentative nod from USFDA for Levofloxacin tablets

Lupin has received tentative approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) to manufacture and market Levofloxacin tablets in strengths 250 mg, 500 mg and 750 mg.

Levofloxacin is a synthetic chemotherapeutic agent used to treat severe and life threatening bacterial infections.

Levofloxacin is commonly referred to as a fluoroquinolone (or quinolone) drug and is a member of the fluoroquinolone class of antibacterials.

Shares of the company declined Rs 44.7, or 5.01%, to trade at Rs 848. The total volume of shares traded was 23,243 at the BSE (3.08 p.m., Friday).
