Orchid Pharma gets USFDA nod for Cetirizine Hydrochloride tablet

The Chennai-based Pharma major, Orchid Chemicals (Q, N,C,F)* & Pharmaceuticals has received ANDA (Abbreviated New Drug Application) approved from US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) for its drug Cetirizine Hydrochloride tablet.

The said drug would be available in the strengths of 5 mg and 10 mg. The drug is prescribed to treat sneezing; itchiness, runny nose; and itchy red watery eyes caused by seasonal allergies such as high fever.

Recently, the company received a final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to market Levetiracetam Tablets in strengths of 250 mg, 500 mg and 750 mg.

Shares of the company closed down Rs 2.25, or 3.19%, at Rs 68.25. The total volume of shares traded was 23,622 at the BSE (Friday).
