Aurobindo Pharma gets tentative USFDA nod

Drug maker, Aurobindo Pharma (Q, N,C,F)* announced that the company received tentative approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to market alfuzosin hydrochloride drug, which would be available in the strengths of 10 mg.

Alfuzosin hydrochloride is a medicine which is used in benign prostatic hyperplasia and treating urinary retention.

Recently, the company received final approval from the USFDA to market (on prescription basis) Sertraline Hydrochloride drug.

Sertraline Hydrochloride is an antidepressant of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class used to treat major depression in adult outpatients as well as obsessive-compulsive, panic and social anxiety disorders in both adults and children.

Shares of the company declined Rs 9.4, or 6.84%, to end at Rs 128. The total volume of shares traded was 241,255 at the BSE (Wednesday).
