RIL may lose USD 1 billion on gas sales to RNRL

Reliance Industries (RIL) will lose around USD 1 billion a year if it sells gas to the Reliance Natural Resources (RNRL) at the agreed price of USD 2.34 a million British thermal unit (mBtu).

RIL has already invested Rs 300 billion for developing its assets in Krishna Godavari basin and wants to trade gas at the government-approved price of USD 4.2 a million mBtu.

Shares of the company gained Rs 43, or 1.99%, to end at Rs 2206.2. The total volume of shares traded was 834,809 at the BSE (Thursday).
