Shares of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (GNFC) are trading higher 7.01% on the BSE, after the company reported a strong financial performance in September quarter.
Currently, the shares are being transacted at Rs 142.70 on the BSE, compared to the previous day`s close of Rs 133.35 (Friday). A total of 63,512 shares have changed hands at the bourses. (11.48 a.m.)
GNFC announced a 63.06% jump in net profit at Rs 1,205.80 million in the quarter ended September 2007, as against Rs 739.50 million in the same quarter, last year.
The net sales for the quarter surged 65.91% to Rs 11,411.80 million, while the total income for the quarter jumped 66.67% to Rs 11,648.40 million, when compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago.
Further the company stated, that the figures of the current 3 month-period ended September 2007, include the figures of erstwhile Narmada Chematur Petrochemicals (NCPL), a subsidiary of the company, which has amalgamated with the company with effect from February 2007, and therefore, to that extent, the figures are not comparable with those of the corresponding previous period.
The stock reflected a fall of 7.79% over the week, and 2.09% over a month.
