TCS in talks with Prudential for USD 1.5 bn deal

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and UK-based Prudential Insurance are in talks for an outsourcing contract worth USD 1.5 billion, reports Business Standard.      

Another two global majors IBM and Accenture are in the fray for the contract. TCS is said to be working with its UK-based business process outsourcing (BPO) arm Diligent for this deal.

If TCS bags the deal, it would be the largest deal for the company and would significantly boost the company`s revenue from the UK.   

Prudential, with around seven million customers, is a leading life and pension provider in the UK.

The shares of TCS closed up Rs 23.90, or 1.95%, at Rs 1,248.30. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 149,699. (Thursday)
