Zydus Cadila's Nesher Pharmaceuticals has received US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) approval for Dextroamphetamine Sulfate Extended-Release Capsules. Nesher Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Zydus Pharmaceuticals USA has received final approval from the USFDA to market Dextroamphetamine Sulfate Extended-Release Capsules, 5 mg.
The drug will be produced at the Nesher Pharmaceuticals' manufacturing facility located at St. Louis, MO, USA. Dextroamphetamine is a central nervous system stimulant used in the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and in the treatment of narcolepsy (a special type of sleep disorder).
The group now has more than 120 approvals and has so far filed over 300 ANDAs since the commencement of the filing process in FY 2003-04.
Shares of the company gained Rs 4.4, or 0.83%, to trade at Rs 531.45. The total volume of shares traded was 12,526 at the BSE (11.02 a.m., Thursday).
