The international crude oil price of Indian basket gained 0.24% to USD 49.64 a barrel (bbl) on March 23, 2017 as against USD 49.44 a bbl on March 22, 2017.

In rupee terms, the price of Indian basket increased to Rs 3,247.61 a bbl on March 23, 2017 as compared to Rs 3,237.55 a bbl on March 22, 2017.

Rupee closed stronger at Rs 65.42 per USD on March 23, 2017 as compared to Rs 65.49 per USD on March 22, 2017.

Local stock markets continued to rally for the second day on Friday. At 11.56 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 115.31 points or 0.39% at 29,447.47 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 28.75 points or 0.32% at 9,115.05 with 30 components gaining.
