US stock markets settled mixed on Thursday as investors re-evaluate initial beliefs as to how the presidency of Donald Trump will impact the nation.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average went up 218.19 points or 1.17 percent to settle at 18,807.88. The broader S&P 500 index gained 4.22 points or 0.2 percent to end at 2,167.48.

On the other hand, NASDAQ 100 index lost 78.16 points or 1.62 percent to close at 4,747.03.
