US stock markets closed lower on Monday as the price of crude oil and other energy futures fell.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 76.42 points or 0.38 percent to settle at 19,887.38. The broader S&P 500 index fell 8.08 points or 0.35 percent to end at 2,268.90.

On the other hand, NASDAQ 100 index went up 17.82 points or 0.36 percent to close at 5,024.90.
