Indian equities bounced back on Wednesday snapping earlier losses. At 11.20 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 121.21 points or 0.36% at 33,349.20 with 22 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 45.50 points or 0.44% at 10,285.65 with 35 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.34%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.20%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.14%), Tata Consultancy Services (0.93%), Bharti Airtel (0.93%), and Hero Motocorp (0.91%).
On the other hand, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.81%), ICICI Bank (0.70%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (0.67%), ITC (0.17%), Tata Steel (0.10%), and Maruti Suzuki India (0.07%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,195 advances against 911 declines.
Bharti Airtel topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 2,231.88 million. It was followed by Shriram Transport Finance Company (Rs. 2,092.08 million), I T C (Rs. 1,693.99 million) and Housing Development Finance Corporation (Rs. 648.76 million).
The volume chart was led by Unitech with trades of over 13.02 million shares. It was followed by I T C (6.49 million), Bharti Airtel (4.22 million) and Lycos Internet (2.46 million).
