Indian markets bounced back on Monday snapping earlier losses. At 11.06 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 317.57 points or 0.95% at 33,624.71 with 24 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 95.60 points or 0.93% at 10,322.45 with 36 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were I T C (2.81%), Infosys (1.92%), Wipro (1.79%), Bharti Airtel (1.68%), Tata Steel (1.63%), and Tata Consultancy Services (1.36%).
On the other hand, Coal India (2.38%), State Bank Of India (1.38%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (0.38%), Asian Paints (0.18%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (0.14%), and Bajaj Auto (0.03%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,224 advances against 855 declines.
Avanti Feeds topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 10,115.17 million. It was followed by Hindustan Unilever (Rs. 365.79 million), Tata Steel (Rs. 178.69 million) and IDBI Bank (Rs. 169.23 million).
The volume chart was led by Avanti Feeds with trades of over 4.42 million shares. It was followed by IDBI Bank (2.54 million), Unitech (2.25 million) and I F C I (1.33 million).
