Indian equities continued to rise for the second day on Friday as the RBI ECB current account SA removes HDFC Bank from the ban list for share purchase by FIIs. At 9.18 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 313.62 points or 1.11% at 28,614.89 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 105.70 points or 1.20% at 8,883.70 with 39 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were HDFC Bank (8.44%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (4.82%), Maruti Suzuki India (3.20%), Tata Steel (2.71%), Tata Motors (2.69%), and Axis Bank (2.52%).
On the other hand, ITC (3.05%), Asian Paints (1.87%), Coal India (1.23%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.02%), Bajaj Auto (0.72%), and Hindustan Unilever (0.70%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 792 advances against 147 declines.
