Indian equities bounced back on Monday snapping earlier losses. At 11.30 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 132.18 points or 0.40% at 32,965.12 with 17 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 38.50 points or 0.38% at 10,160.30 with 29 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Infosys (3.81%), Tata Motors (2.15%), Bharti Airtel (1.73%), Tata Steel (1.41%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.36%), and Hindustan Unilever (1.17%).
On the other hand, Coal India (1.23%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.88%), Asian Paints (0.65%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.60%), Cipla (0.58%), and Tata Consultancy Services (0.53%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,176 advances against 1,023 declines.
Kotak Mahindra Bank topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1,268.13 million. It was followed by Indusind Bank (Rs. 598.97 million), Strides Shasun (Rs. 508.50 million) and Biocon (Rs. 492.03 million).
The volume chart was led by Visagar Polytex with trades of over 4.18 million shares. It was followed by Digjam (3.26 million), Kirloskar Ferrous Industries (2.14 million) and Nu Tek India (2.06 million).
