Indian markets bounced back on Tuesday snapping earlier losses. At 10.50 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 102.51 points or 0.31% at 33,025.63 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 33.70 points or 0.33% at 10,127.95.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Steel (2.70%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.14%), Tata Power Company (1.13%), Bajaj Auto (1.09%), Tata Motors (1.04%), and Infosys (0.93%).
On the other hand, Cipla (2.63%), NTPC (1.20%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.01%), Wipro (1.01%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.93%), and Axis Bank (0.62%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,023 advances against 933 declines.
IDFC topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 490.65 million. It was followed by Indusind Bank (Rs. 381.36 million), Tata Steel (Rs. 323.73 million) and Prism Cement (Rs. 268.81 million).
The volume chart was led by IDFC with trades of over 9.81 million shares. It was followed by I F C I (9.28 million), Karuturi Global (4.96 million) and Jaiprakash Associates (3.66 million).
