Indian markets bounced back on Monday snapping earlier losses. At 9.37 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 149.92 points or 0.46% at 32,539.88 with 26 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 62.10 points or 0.61% at 10,208.65 with 40 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (2.10%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.97%), Hero Motocorp (1.68%), Reliance Industries (1.37%), Coal India (1.24%), and Hindustan Unilever (1.20%).
On the other hand, Axis Bank (1.74%), Bajaj Auto (1.25%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.77%), and Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.49%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 1,052 advances against 557 declines.
Sunteck Realty topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 314.51 million. It was followed by R*Shares Liquid BeES (Rs. 254.26 million), L I C Housing Finance (Rs. 185.87 million) and Axis Bank (Rs. 120.15 million).
The volume chart was led by Shiva Cement with trades of over 1.33 million shares. It was followed by Sunteck Realty (0.97 million), GVK Power & Infrastructure (0.86 million) and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (0.80 million).
