Indian markets remained positive in noon session on Wednesday led by buying interest seen in consumer durables stocks. At 12.38 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 82.82 points or 0.30% at 27,542.05 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 22.95 points or 0.28% at 8,359.95 with 26 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Infosys (2.26%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (2.16%), Wipro (1.50%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.34%), Tata Motors (1.23%), and Hindalco Industries (1%).
On the other hand, Tata Power Company (3.31%), I T C (2.73%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.59%), NTPC (1.28%), State Bank Of India (1.04%), and G A I L (India) (0.88%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
The Consumer Durables index was at 10,985.54, down by 238.71 points or by 2.13%. The PSU index was at 7,543.80, down by 24.05 points or by 0.32%. The Realty index was at 1,283.93, down by 3.35 points or by 0.26%. On the other hand, the TECk index was at 6,176.28, up by 83.06 points or by 1.36%.
