Indian markets bounced back on Monday snapping earlier losses. At 9.35 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 253.35 points or 0.76% at 33,560.49 with 22 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 89.25 points or 0.87% at 10,316.10 with 35 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were ITC (2.81%), Tata Steel (1.49%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.40%), Wipro (1.33%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.30%), and Infosys (1.28%).
On the other hand, State Bank Of India (1.42%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (0.80%), Asian Paints (0.60%), Coal India (0.34%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.31%), and Tata Motors (0.26%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 1,071 advances against 408 declines.
Avanti Feeds topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 10,103.03 million. It was followed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (Rs. 387.02 million), Page Industries (Rs. 129.91 million) and Tata Steel (Rs. 77.85 million).
The volume chart was led by Avanti Feeds with trades of over 4.41 million shares. It was followed by G T L Infrastructure (2.14 million), Subex (1.96 million) and Reliance Communications (1.66 million).
