Sensex, Nifty under pressure; SBI, Dr Reddy's, Coal India fall

Indian equities remained under pressure in the post noon trade on Friday led by intense losses seen in banking, auto and consumer durables stocks. At 12.50 p.m., the Sensex was trading down 410.75 points or 1.38% at 29,271.28. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 118.25 points or 1.32% at 8,834.10.

The BSE Midcap and Smallcap index lost 0.23% and 0.2% respectively.

On sectoral front, the BSE Bankex index slipped (2.17%) followed by Consumer durables (1.19%), FMCG (0.91%) and Metal (0.77%).   

Major laggards in the 30 share index were SBI (4.24%), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (3.69%), Coal India (3.64%), HDFC (3.52%) and TCS (2.49%).
