Indian equities ended flat on Wednesday. At the close, the 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex ended flat with a rise of 26.31 points or 0.07% at 36,265.93 with 15 components registering rise. while the broad based NSE Nifty closed flat with a gain of 1.05 points or 0.01%, at 10,948.30 with18 components posting rise.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Consultancy Services (5.47%), Bajaj Auto (2.33%), Reliance Industries (1.03%), Axis Bank (0.76%), and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.69%).
On the other hand, Coal India (4.59%), Tata Motors (2.74%), Tata Steel (2.24%), SBI (1.75%) and Bharti Airtel (1.69%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,252 advances against 1,117 declines.
MindTree topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 152.39 million. It was followed by State Bank Of India (Rs. 151.79 million), Adani Power (Rs. 150.50 million) and Hero Motocorp (Rs. 119.02 million).
The volume chart was led by Birla Power Solutions with trades of over 12.09 million shares. It was followed by Adani Power (7.38 million), Sam Leaseco (4.22 million) and Bellary Steels & Alloys (2.03 million).
