Indian equities bounced back on Thursday snapping earlier losses. At 9.31 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 109.28 points or 0.32% at 34,440.96 with 22 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 33.00 points or 0.31% at 10,559.20 with 35 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.57%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.27%), Tata Steel (1.15%), ITC (1.09%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (0.73%), and Asian Paints (0.67%).
On the other hand, Axis Bank (0.91%), Wipro (0.79%), Bajaj Auto (0.41%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.33%), Tata Power Company (0.23%), and ICICI Bank (0.07%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 822 advances against 432 declines.
Uniply Industries topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 626.52 million. It was followed by HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company (Rs. 554.81 million), Vakrangee (Rs. 157.19 million) and Mishra Dhatu Nigam (Rs. 96.11 million).
The volume chart was led by Jaypee Infratech with trades of over 2.28 million shares. It was followed by Uniply Industries (1.47 million), Vakrangee (1.19 million) and HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company (1.11 million).
