Indian markets are trading higher towards the close on Wednesday supported by capital goods and realty stocks. At 3.16 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 102.80 points or 0.37% at 27,562.03 with 20 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 37.50 points or 0.45% at 8,374.50 with 32 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Vedanta (2.18%), Infosys (2.04%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.81%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.69%), Larsen & Toubro (1.67%), and Bharti Airtel (1.62%).
On the other hand, Tata Power Company (3.53%), I T C (2.28%), State Bank Of India (2.20%), Reliance Industries (1.58%), NTPC (1.10%), and Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
The Capital Goods index was at 18,045.05, up by 325.77 points or by 1.84%. The Realty index was at 1,309.12, up by 21.84 points or by 1.70%. The Auto index was at 18,721.73, up by 260.16 points or by 1.41%.On the other hand, the Consumer Durables index was at 11,014.72, down by 209.53 points or by 1.87%.
