Indian markets continued to rally for the seventh day on Tuesday. At 9.24 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 12.23 points or 0.04% at 34,317.66 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 10.95 points or 0.10% at 10,539.30 with 36 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Power Grid Corporation Of India (4.25%), Mahindra & Mahindra (3.21%), NTPC (2.60%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (2.45%), and Bajaj Auto (2.03%).
On the other hand, Tata Motors (4.08%), Infosys (4.03%), Wipro (1.99%), State Bank Of India (0.64%), Axis Bank (0.56%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.44%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 704 advances against 452 declines.
Idea Cellular topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 3,110.57 million. It was followed by Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (Rs. 1,220.37 million), Indiabulls Ventures (Rs. 189.78 million) and Birla Sun Life Fixed Term Plan - Series IP - Regular Plan - Growth (Rs. 111.30 million).
The volume chart was led by Idea Cellular with trades of over 42.61 million shares. It was followed by Birla Sun Life Fixed Term Plan - Series IP - Regular Plan - Growth (10.00 million), Reliance Communications (1.32 million) and Talwalkars Better Value Fitness (0.65 million).
