Indian equities are trading higher on Tuesday led by realty and consumer durables stocks. At 1.20 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 59.03 points or 0.21% at 28,267.79 with 13 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 20.30 points or 0.24% at 8,542.45 with 27 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Coal India (1.93%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.91%), Wipro (1.36%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.93%), Axis Bank (0.73%), and Mahindra & Mahindra (0.57%).
On the other hand, NTPC (2.46%), Vedanta (1.96%), Hero Motocorp (1.29%), Hindalco Industries (1.15%), Hindustan Unilever (0.91%), and Reliance Industries (0.64%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
The Realty index was at 1,451.05, up by 16.68 points or by 1.16%. The Consumer Durables index was at 10,823.89, up by 67.68 points or by 0.63%. On the other hand, the Auto index was at 19,005.97, down by 17.03 points or by 0.09%.
Market breadth was positive with 1,584 advances against 852 declines.
