Sensex falls 92 points, Nifty trades at 10,203

Indian equities continued to decline for the second day on Wednesday. At 10.07 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 92.45 points or 0.28% at 32,516.71 with 18 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 31.15 points or 0.30% at 10,203.30 with 34 components falling.

Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Axis Bank (6.72%), ICICI Bank (2.87%), Cipla (2.15%), State Bank Of India (1.93%), Bharti Airtel (1.29%), and Asian Paints (1.03%).

On the other hand, Reliance Industries (1.64%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.30%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.23%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (1.22%), Wipro (1.16%), and HDFC Bank (0.35%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.

Market breadth was negative with 934 advances against 789 declines.

Nilkamal topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 719.83 million. It was followed by Axis Bank (Rs. 424.43 million), Reliance Capital (Rs. 140.53 million) and Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company (Rs. 131.97 million).

The volume chart was led by Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) with trades of over 2.48 million shares. It was followed by Himachal Futuristic Communications (1.27 million), Jaiprakash Associates (0.95 million) and Idea Cellular (0.90 million).
