Indian equities continued to drop for the fourth day on Friday. At 9.40 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 243.40 points or 0.75% at 32,126.64 with 26 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 91.90 points or 0.91% at 10,030.00 with 47 components falling.
Major losers in the 30-share index were ICICI Bank (1.84%), Tata Steel (1.75%), Tata Power Company (1.44%), State Bank Of India (1.42%), Bajaj Auto (1.30%), and GAIL (India) (1.22%).
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.10%), Wipro (0.88%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (0.52%), and Maruti Suzuki India (0.46%) were the biggest gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 382 advances against 1,195 declines.
Dr Reddy'S Laboratories topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 119.62 million. It was followed by Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company (Rs. 117.38 million), Reliance Capital (Rs. 86.89 million) and Spicejet (Rs. 52.66 million).
The volume chart was led by SBI SDFS - 90 Days - 60 - Dividend with trades of over 3.79 million shares. It was followed by Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company (0.54 million), Spicejet (0.37 million) and Hindustan Construction Company (0.30 million).
