Indian markets ended lower on Tuesday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex declined 91.69 or 0.28% at 32,941.87 with 22 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went down by 38.35 or 0.38% at 10,186.60 with 38 components registering drop.
Biggest losers in the 30-share index were L&T (2.46%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (2.20%), Asian Paints (1.77%), TCS (1.53%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.25%).
On the other hand, Hero Motocorp (1.96%), Axis Bank (1.57%), Bajaj Auto (1.37%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.34%) and Reliance Industries (1.26%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 964 advances against 1,578 declines.
Just Dial topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 689.08 million. It was followed by Rain Industries (Rs. 522.90 million), Bank Of Baroda (Rs. 497.67 million) and State Bank Of India (Rs. 465.99 million).
The volume chart was led by Jaiprakash Associates with trades of over 13.36 million shares. It was followed by Suzlon Energy (5.95 million), Spicejet (2.97 million) and Bank Of Baroda (2.85 million).
