Indian markets ended lower on Monday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex lost 310.51 or 0.87% at 35,498.44. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 83.45  or 0.78% at 10,640.95.

Major losers in the 30-share index were Tata Consultancy Services (2.91%), Yes Bank (2.54%), ITC (1.95%),  Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.94%), Reliance Industries (1.91%) and Coal India (1.74%).

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.48%), Tata Motors (1.18%), Axis Bank (0.88%) and NTPC (0.48%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
