Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 7.64 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on June 16, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 79.36 billion and sold equities worth Rs 87 billion.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 8.90 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 35.55 billion and sold equities worth Rs 26.64 billion.
Local stock markets ended flat on Friday. At the close, the 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex ended flat with a decline of 19.33 points or 0.06% at 31,056.40, 19 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 10.00 or 0.10% at 9,588.05 with 25 components registering rise.
