Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 2.77 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on July 31, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 55.98 billion and sold equities worth Rs 58.76 billion.
Meanwhile, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 10.21 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 28.27 billion and sold equities worth Rs 18.06 billion.
Local stock markets witnessed a stellar rally on Friday led by realty and auto stocks. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 409.21 points or 1.48% at 28,114.56. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 111.05 points or 1.32% at 8,532.85.
