Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 235.4 million on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on July 7, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 37.45 billion and sold equities worth Rs 37.21 billion.
Meanwhile, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 947.1 million. They bought equities worth Rs 13.79 billion and sold equities worth Rs 14.73 billion.
Indian markets ended marginally lower on Tuesday ahead of an emergency meeting of euro zone finance ministers in Brussels later in the day to continue talks on bailout with Greece.
At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex declined 37.07 points or 0.13% at 28,171.69 with 22 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 11.35 points or 0.13% at 8,510.80 with 33 components registering drop.
