European stocks trade lower

European stock markets are trading lower on Friday as investors book profits after a series of records for global benchmarks.

Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 declined 6.97 points or 0.21 percent to trade at 3,377.74. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 lost 27.43 points or 0.37 percent to trade at 7,354.92.

Meanwhile, Germany's benchmark index DAX declined 49.47 points or 0.41 percent to trade at 12,010.10. French benchmark index CAC 40 lost 7.23 points or 0.15 percent to trade at 4,956.57.

On Thursday, European stock markets settled lower. Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 declined 5.49 points or 0.16 percent to settle at 3,384.71. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 declined 0.55 points or 0.01 percent to close at 7,382.35. Germany's benchmark index DAX lost 7.62 points or 0.06 percent to end at 12,059.57.
