European stock markets are trading marginally lower on Friday as investors tidy-up positions on the final trading day of the year following a firm session for Asia equity markets.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 lost 5.72 points or 0.17 percent to trade at 3,266.04. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 fell 7.92 points or 0.11 percent to trade at 7,112.34.
Meanwhile, Germany's benchmark index DAX lost 22.28 points or 0.19 percent to trade at 11,428.77. French benchmark index CAC 40 lost 8.32 points or 0.17 percent to trade at 4,830.15.
On Thursday, European stock markets settled lower. Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 fell 6.96 points or 0.21 percent to settle at 3,271.76. Germany's benchmark index DAX lost 23.94 points or 0.21 percent to end at 11,451.05.
