European stock markets are trading lower on Wednesday as global investors brace for the U.S. Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and fresh economic forecasts.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 lost 10.89 points or 0.34 percent to trade at 3,225.82. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 lost 12.66 points or 0.18 percent to trade at 6,955.91.
Meanwhile, Germany's benchmark index DAX fell 24.12 points or 0.21 percent to trade at 11,260.53. French benchmark index CAC 40 fell 18.79 points or 0.39 percent to trade at 4,785.08.
On Tuesday, European stock markets settled higher. Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 went up 37.60 points or 1.18 percent to settle at 3,236.71. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 gained 78.15 points or 1.13 percent to close at 6,968.57.
