European stock markets closed lower on Thursday as investors put the brakes on a two-day U.S. election rally amid a worrying rise in global bond yields.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 declined 9.70 points or 0.32 percent to settle at 3,046.59. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 fell 83.86 points or 1.21 percent to close at 6,827.98.
Meanwhile, Germany's benchmark index DAX declined 15.89 points or 0.15 percent to end at 10,630.12. French benchmark index CAC 40 fell 12.53 points or 0.28 percent to end at 4,530.95.
