European stock markets settled lower on Thursday as a sharp fall in oil prices weighed on sentiment, following news that OPEC would be extending its production cuts.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 declined 10.48 points or 0.29 percent to end at 3,584.55. Germany's benchmark index DAX dropped 21.15 points or 0.17 percent to end at 12,621.72. French benchmark index CAC 40 fell 4.18 points or 0.08 percent to end at 5,337.16.
On the other hand, UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 gained to 2.81 points or 0.04 percent to close at 7,517.71.
