Asian stock markets are trading mixed on Thursday as investors digested a raft of earnings reports, while the yen turned higher after the Federal Reserve gave investors little fodder to change their views on the pace of U.S. interest-rate hikes.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 declined 65.10 points or 0.34 percent to trade at 19,082.98. Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 86.19 points or 0.37 percent to trade at 23,232.20.
Singapore's Straits Times lost 17.76 points or 0.58 percent to trade at 3,049.73. Taiwan's TAIEX declined 2.41 points or 0.03 percent to trade at 9,445.54.
On the other hand, China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite rose 9.61 points or 0.31 percent to trade at 3,159.17. South Korea's KOSPI rose 3.97 points or 0.19 percent to trade at 2,084.45.
