Asian stock markets are trading mixed on Friday and the dollar nursed losses in a week marked by growing uncertainty about the outcome of the U.S. presidential election.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 fell 212.72 points or 1.24 percent to trade at 16,921.96. Singapore's Straits Times fell 10.79 points or 0.39 percent to trade at 2,791.29. South Korea's KOSPI lost 1.65 points or 0.08 percent to trade at 1,982.15.
On the other hand, China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite gained 10.72 points or 0.34 percent to trade at 3,139.65. Hong Kong's Hang Seng went up 56.52 points or 0.25 percent to trade at 22,740.03. Taiwan's TAIEX went up 12.97 points or 0.14 percent to trade at 9,080.24.
