Asian stock markets are trading lower on Friday ahead of the US non-farm payrolls report due later in the day.

China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite fell 3.61 points or 0.11 percent to trade at 3,213.14. Singapore's Straits Times fell 1.28 points or 0.04 percent to trade at 3,117.56.

South Korea's KOSPI fell 5.27 points or 0.25 percent to trade at 2,085.79. Taiwan's TAIEX declined 84.23 points or 0.87 percent to trade at 9,574.38.

On the other hand, Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 went up 241.52 points or 1.25 percent to trade at 19,560.10. Hong Kong's Hang Seng went up 25.26 points or 0.11 percent to trade at 23,526.82.
