Asian stock markets are trading lower on Thursday. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite fell 28.15 points or 0.87 percent to trade at 3,212.51. Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 259.47 points or 1.09 percent to trade at 23,522.80.

Singapore's Straits Times lost 25.43 points or 0.81 percent to trade at 3,119.86. Taiwan's TAIEX declined 92.31 points or 0.95 percent to trade at 9,661.14.

On the other hand, Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 rose 21.07 points or 0.11 percent to trade at 19,275.10. South Korea's KOSPI rose 0.71 points or 0.03 percent to trade at 2,096.12.
