Asian stock markets are trading lower on Tuesday after the yen led a rally in haven assets with political uncertainty infecting markets across the globe.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 declined 93.80 points or 0.49 percent to trade at 18,882.91. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite declined 0.67 points or 0.02 percent to trade at 3,156.31.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 20.25 points or 0.09 percent to trade at 23,327.99. South Korea's KOSPI declined 2.92 points or 0.14 percent to trade at 2,074.74.
On the other hand, Singapore's Straits Times rose 11.34 points or 0.37 percent to trade at 3,068.25. Taiwan's TAIEX rose 1.90 points or 0.02 percent to trade at 9,539.91.
