Asian stock markets are trading higher on Friday, with Japanese automakers coming under pressure following a tweet by President-elect Donald Trump directed at Toyota, as well as due to a stronger yen.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 130.35 points or 0.58 percent to trade at 22,587.04. Singapore's Straits Times rose 9.06 points or 0.31 percent to trade at 2,963.20.
South Korea's KOSPI went up 7.67 points or 0.38 percent to trade at 2,049.62. Taiwan's TAIEX gained 2.39 points or 0.03 percent to trade at 9,360.53.
On the other hand, Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 fell 75.85 points or 0.39 percent to trade at 19,444.84. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite lost 3.69 points or 0.12 percent to trade at 3,161.72.
