Asian stock markets are trading higher on Thursday after Wall Street strode to new records and bonds rallied on wagers the European Central Bank would extend its asset buying campaign at a policy meeting later in the session.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 went up 146.05 points or 0.79 percent to trade at 18,642.74. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite gained 3.64 points or 0.11 percent to trade at 3,225.88. Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 195.40 points or 0.86 percent to trade at 22,996.32.
Singapore's Straits Times rose 16.32 points or 0.55 percent to trade at 2,976.16. South Korea's KOSPI went up 21.03 points or 1.06 percent to trade at 2,012.92. Taiwan's TAIEX gained 63.27 points or 0.68 percent to trade at 9,327.16.
