Asian stock markets closed mixed on Thursday amid the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S., with Japan's bourse buoyed by a lower yen.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 gained 170.47 points or 0.94 percent to settle at 18,333.41. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite went up 0.60 points or 0.02 percent to close at 3,241.74. Singapore's Straits Times gained 4.03 points or 0.14 percent to end at 2,843.72.
On the other hand, Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 68.20 points or 0.3 percent to end at 22,608.49. South Korea's KOSPI fell 16.69 points or 0.84 percent to end at 1,971.26. Taiwan's TAIEX declined 26.12 points or 0.28 percent to end at 9,152.11.
